
LIMASSOL NOVEMBER 1995
A supermarket that set new standards opens in Limassol. 19.000 sq.
metres and two levels of sheltered parking for 1300 cars, it was an
instant success. The new Orphanides Super store was the richest, most
comfortable, and best value for money choice on the island.
LIMASSOL NOVEMBER 1998
The first Shopping mall in Cyprus. 16 shops were added, under the same
roof with the existing Orphanides Supermarket in Limassol offering new
shopping options.
DECEMBER 1998
Laiki Yperagora Orphanide Ltd goes Public. Following the company's
Strategic growth plan Orphanides becomes the first Supermarket chain
to successfully list in the Cyprus Stock Exchange.
INTRODUCTION OF THE ORPHANIDES BONUS CARD
During the same period the richest customer reward scheme was
introduced. Orphanides Bonus Card attracted thousands of consumers who
became members of the scheme within just a few months.
SEPTEMBER 1999
A new Orphanides Supermarket opens in the Paralimni region expanding
the company's presence to the free Famagusta area. The consumers
response was enthusiastic from the first day of its operation.
NOVEMBER 1999
On November the 6th, the richest, largest and by far the most modern
Shopping Center in Cyprus opens its doors to the public in Nicosia.
This included a unique shopping Mall with 50 shops and an Orphanides
Supermarket offering everything that a consumer might ask for.
A NEW CENTURY
By the end of 2000 Laiki Yperagora Orphanide Ltd becomes the first
chain of Supermarkets with presence in all the cities of Cyprus. Three
new Orphanides Supermarkets open, one in the Zakaki area in Limassol
and two in Paphos.
MAY 2004
New Orphanides Supermarket opens in Ormidia Village, sales area 700
sq. m., 6 checkouts, parking for 100 cars
SEPTEMBER 2004
New Orphanides Supermarkets open expanding the company's presence, one
in Larnaca with sales area 1.350 sq. m., 6 checkouts, parking for 50
cars and one in Limassol with sales area 600 sq. m., 4 checkouts
TODAY
10 Supermarkets with a total of 47.000 square meters selling space and
2 Shopping Malls, extending from the free Famagusta area to Paphos,
add up to the NoI Hypermarket Chain in Cyprus.
